In her 15-year career, Marlene’s passionate approach and technical expertise has led her to opportunities that many artists only dream of. It began when she met her mentor, Victor Valverde, and followed his example of becoming a leader in the industry. Marlene’s talents continued to emerge as she worked side-by-side with some of today’s most sought-out hairstylists; including Redken platform artist Hugo Urias, and celebrity stylist, Neeko Abriol. Marlene’s celebrity client list includes Cycle 7 America’s Next Top Model winner, Jaslene Gonzalez.
Most stylists would be more than content with this kind of background; however, Marlene consistently efforts to further herself, both technically and artistically. Perhaps Marlene’s greatest attribute is her desire to; “step outside the box,” in order to find new and inviting challenges. She is committed to changing the look of contemporary hairstyle through the development of new techniques and ideas. Freedom of expression, paired with a sharp eye to detail, is evident in all that she does.
Marlene considers her success a tremendous blessing, and takes pride in giving back. She devotes her spare time to coordinating charities, fundraisers and special events geared toward her clients and surrounding community. Marlene lives in the city of Covina, with her husband, Gil and 7 year old twins, Reese and Aiden.
